Hey gang, Russell and I are working hard at getting the new Superbowl pics online. They will hopefully be up in a few days. Here is a taste of what you will get:

Winning at volleyball, and getting second in basketball! (Hey, they had a black guy, of course we were going to lose to them.) [Note: I am not racist in that comment. That is none other than my good friend Pastor Mike CArey, Youth Pastor of Maugansville Bible Brethren, classmate of mine and graduate of ABC, etc. etc. ... but he would agree with the comment]

11/14 devo and our Amazing God!

Ok, just finished my devotional for this morning. It was on Mark 6:45-56.  It is the story of how Jesus sent the disciples over the sea of Galilee but didn’t go with them. Then, in the midst of the storm, Jesus walked out to them, entered the boat, and calmed the storm. The disciples, as usual, were amazed.

I learned 3 lessons out of this story:

First, the usual lesson taught by it: That we have storms in life we cannot handle; Jesus is there at those times; we need to rely on Him to make it through.

Second: Some of these men were experienced fishermen (thus experienced in rowing, storms, etc) and they still struggled and needed Jesus’ help; thus, as a Pastor, althought I may be learned and experienced, I still will struggle in life, even in understanding God’s Word, and need to rely on Jesus to help me.

Third: That our God is so amazing, all-knowing, etc., that He can use His Word to teach us all various lessons that apply to our individual lives which all may be alittle different from each other, but never contradcting His Word. Cool!

Feeding the 5000

Today’s Devo was on the feeding of the 5000 from Mark 6:30-44.

Here’s the basics: Take 5 loaves and 2 fish which is enough to feed 1 man. Give thanks to God for it. PAss it out to over 5000 so that all are full and you have tons left over. That’s the amazing power of God!

A Thank You Letter

Dear Youth and your leaders,

Thanks so much for putting away the tables and chairs after the mission study on Sunday.  I appreciate your help and willingness to prepare the multi – purpose room for the next event.  It was great to see such a large group there Sunday evening.  Also, thank you to those who faithfully clean up the sanctuary after the Sunday services.

In Christ’s name,
Mrs. Karen Ingram, WMU Director, PBC
