On June 1 and 2, some of the youth going to this year’s World Changers trip met at the church for a retreat weekend. We had some study sessions on Friday night, along with some free time. The first study session, we learned about work and doing things we may not have wanted to do (like pick up the trash in front of the church).
On Saturday, we had some more study sessions. In these, we learned about sacrificing for God’s work (including our cell phones and video games). We also wrote out our testimonies and shared them so that we might be more comfortable sharing them in Roanoke in July. Later, we went to Russell and Corinne’s to get a taste of what the work projects would be like. All seemed to have fun (and experience the hand-numbing effects of a hand sander). Back at the church, we had lasagna before the parents arrived and we had a meeting with them.
All in all, it was fun! Please check out the pics on the photos page (courtesy of the Glenns).
