Youth Sunday
Our Youth Sunday on March 18th featured a great service.
Behind the scenes, Jon ran the overheads.
Micheal opened the service with the welcome.
Becca did the announcements for us.
Matthew read the call to worship scripture.
Russell had our opening prayer for us.
Then Jen had special music.
Abbie and Madison also did special music.
Ashley, Josh, and Spencer helped with the offering collection.
Mr. Money also prayed.
Pastor B gave the message.
And Mr. Hose had the closing prayer.
We received a number of compliments on the service. The service went very smoothly and everyone did a great job!
It is encouraging to see you all doing such a good job, knowing that you are the future of our church. No, wait, not only the future of the church but also the present of the church.
Thanks again to all involved.
Mall Savenger Hunt
On Saturday, March 17th, we invaded the Mall!
Russell and Corinne oversaw this event. As the parents dropped off the youth, they set about to hide in the mall. Pastor B and Hilary were already hidden by the time the event started.
Some parents wandered the mall and avoided the youth, some changed clothes and hid in Long John Silvers, others hid in the Bonton (we don’t know why the youth didn’t thoroughly search the Bonton. Pastor B’s disguise fooled most of the youth for most of the time, but he was eventually discovered.
The parents seemed to have more fun hiding than the youth did searching. As a result, we will not be doing this type of scavenger hunt for quite some time (3-4 years or more).
Afterwards, we attempted to get icecream at Cold Stone Creamery, but since they were crowded, we went to McD’s.
It’s been so long
It’s been so long since we met. We have switched Youth back to Wednesday nights. Then wouldn’t you know it, we got snowed out of our first Wednesday night.
It’s okay though. This coming Wednesday we’ll have a longer time of games and activities, we will finally catch up on about 3 weeks worth of points, and will award 2 students (maybe more) with prizes for getting their 2nd cards filled in.
Hilary and I are looking forward to the Mall Scavenger Hunt. It will be a blast! You will not want to miss this. Please bring a friend to join you for the night!
See you Sunday!
Movie Night
Last night we had our Movie Night and watched “Facing the Giants.”
Talk about an excellent movie. Not only was it clean and fun, but it reminded us to give our best in everything we do. We should give our best in the fun things, in the things we like, and even in the things we do not like, such as school classes.
We not only were encouraged to do our best no matter what (because we are doing it ultimately for God, right?), but also to be encouragers to each other. We must remember not to criticize.
Overall, it was a great night and a great movie!
If you missed it, you missed out! But I dare not say any more, because if I do I am afraid Madison will yell, “Criticize” at me.
